FAQ

Questions, answered

Adjustments, the law, and how SATIEE handles both. If your question is not here, ask us directly.

The company

What is SATIEE?

SATIEE is the platform UK employers use to run workplace adjustments end to end. Employees request, HR and managers decide, and every step writes itself to an audit trail. That replaces the email threads and spreadsheets most organisations still rely on.

Was SATIEE previously called EDEN?

Yes. EDEN, Employment Devices for Enhancing Neurodiversity, became SATIEE in 2026. Same founder, same team, same mission. Anything recorded before the change still uses the old name, so if a podcast or a case study brought you here, you have found the right company. There is more on the name change if you want it.

The law

What is a reasonable adjustment?

A change to a job or a workplace that removes a disadvantage a disabled employee faces at work. Noise cancelling headphones, a later start time, written instructions instead of verbal ones. Reasonable is the operative word: employers weigh cost, practicality and their own size, not whether the request is convenient.

Are UK employers legally required to make them?

Yes. The Equality Act 2010 creates a duty that starts the moment an employer knows, or could reasonably be expected to know, that an employee is disabled. Waiting to be asked is not a defence. Failing that duty is discrimination in itself, which is why so few claims turn on intent.

How long does an employer have to make one?

No statutory deadline exists. Tribunals ask instead whether the employer acted without undue delay, weighed against its size and the complexity of the adjustment. Simple requests left unanswered for months are where employers lose.

The product

Who is SATIEE for?

UK employers who need adjustments handled consistently rather than case by case. HR gets the process and the evidence, managers get enough context to decide well, and employees get a route that does not depend on who they report to.

How is this different from a spreadsheet or our HR system?

A spreadsheet records a decision. It cannot evidence one. SATIEE logs every transition immutably, which is what a tribunal asks to see and what a spreadsheet has never been able to produce. Generic HR systems track people rather than adjustments, so the detail that matters collapses into a free text note.

Data and privacy

Is adjustment data special category data?

Yes. Health and disability data sits under Article 9 of the UK GDPR, which sets a higher bar than ordinary personal data. SATIEE encrypts it at rest and isolates every organisation in its own database schema, so access is scoped by design rather than by policy. Our privacy policy sets out the detail.

Pricing

What does SATIEE cost?

Pricing depends on headcount and how you deploy. Get in touch and we will size it against your organisation.
